China

DaLeast is a Chinese contemporary street artist best known for striking black-and-white murals punctuated with bold red accents. He works in project around the globe and his work often features solitary figures, masked faces, hooded characters, or everyday people caught in quiet moments, giving his murals a cinematic, almost poetic feel.

Emerging from China’s evolving street art scene, DaLeast blends Eastern sensibilities with global urban aesthetics. The limited colour palette isn’t just a signature; it sharpens emotion and symbolism. Red frequently represents tension, desire, danger, or humanity.

Conceptually, his work explores identity, isolation, social pressure, and modern urban life, themes that resonate strongly in fast-growing cities. While rooted in street culture, his practice comfortably crosses into galleries and international mural festivals, with works appearing across Asia, Europe, and beyond.

DaLeast sits in that compelling space between street art and fine art: visually restrained but emotionally loaded. His murals don’t shout — they linger.
